On the occasion of World Abdominal Cancer Day, awareness campaigns regarding abdominal cancer will be run in cities across the world. In this series, special programs are being organized in Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur to make people aware about this serious disease.
A special walk will be organized in the historic Jaleb Chowk of Jaipur on 17th May. This walk will not be limited to Jaipur only, but a multicity walk will be organized simultaneously in many cities of the world. The main objective of this campaign is to motivate people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, get regular health checkups done and not ignore the early symptoms of cancer.
Apart from this, a special discussion program will also be organized on May 19 on prevention and timely treatment of stomach cancer. In this, expert doctors and people associated with the health sector will give information about the causes, symptoms, prevention and treatment of stomach cancer.
According to the organizers, the aim of this campaign is to spread awareness among the people that if stomach cancer is detected early, its cure is possible to a great extent. But due to lack of information and ignoring the symptoms, many patients reach the hospital late, due to which the disease becomes serious.
Health experts say that irregular eating habits, smoking, alcohol consumption, obesity and unhealthy lifestyle are the major causes of stomach cancer. In such a situation, it is very important to have health checkups from time to time and adopt a balanced lifestyle.
During the walk, awareness messages will be given to people and information related to cancer prevention will also be shared. The organizers have appealed to more and more people to spread awareness by joining this campaign. These programs being organized under World Abdominal Cancer Day are considered to be important initiatives towards increasing health awareness in the society and fighting serious diseases like cancer.
