Jammu, May 16 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to the countrymen to save fuel, conserve energy and reduce unnecessary consumption has been taken positively by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Local citizens said that they agree with the Prime Minister and want to contribute to the progress of the country through small efforts.
A local resident of Jammu said, “We believe Modi is right and we should listen to him. People sometimes support him but then forget. We should not forget Modi, because he talks about our welfare, not harm. Earlier we used to walk on foot, then by bicycle, horse carriage and now we have autos and cars.”
Another citizen, respecting the position of the Prime Minister, said, “We should listen to Prime Minister Modi and follow him, because his position is the highest in the country. Whatever he says is for the welfare of the nation.”
Sharing his travel experience, a person said, “I came from Jammu by car, traveled by train from Shamli and then reached here by car. But after coming here, I chose to travel by horse cart because I remembered that the Prime Minister had appealed to save fuel and reduce petrol consumption.”
Earlier in Mumbai, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, while talking in detail on the seven appeals of the Prime Minister, said, “This is a great opportunity for all of us to contribute to the well-being of the people. We can achieve big results even with small steps. Only when the entire society works together to build the country and face the challenges, only then will the country progress rapidly.”
Minister Goyal said that small efforts like energy conservation, fuel saving and controlling unnecessary expenditure, if adopted across the country, can play a big role in strengthening the economy.
