An FIR has been registered against Congress state president Ajay Rai in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh for allegedly making derogatory remarks about PM Modi. This case has been registered at Mahoba Kotwali Police Station. The case has been registered at the city police station on the basis of a written complaint filed by BJP District Executive Committee member Neeraj Rawat. A case has been registered against Congress state president Ajay Rai, outgoing state secretary Brajraj Singh and 30 unknown supporters. This case has been registered under sections 126(2), 352, 196(1), 189(2) and 132 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Apart from this, during an interview with a NEET student, Ajay Rai has also been accused of organizing an event without administrative permission and disrupting traffic.
**Anger among BJP workers**
There was widespread anger among BJP workers after a video went viral on social media, in which derogatory comments and abusive language were allegedly used against PM Modi. Meanwhile, BJP leader Amit Malviya wrote on social media platform ‘X’ that a few days ago – when Ajay Rai was ill – Prime Minister Modi had wished him a speedy recovery; Yet today, the same Ajay Rai was seen using abusive language on camera. On the contrary, while speaking on this entire incident, Ajay Rai claimed that his video has been tampered with and it has been created using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Ajay Rai said, “I had raised my voice for a Dalit girl in Mahoba, and in response to that, an AI-generated video was made against me. Whether I am sent to jail or my effigy is burnt, it does not matter to me. My only aim is to get justice for that girl.” He further commented, “Yogi ji has tweeted about me; I wish he had tweeted once about that girl too.”
Ajay Rai has a long history of making controversial statements. He has previously made comments criticizing the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, and – supporting a statement by Rahul Gandhi – called Modi and Shah “traitors”. He had also made derogatory comments about Union Minister Smriti Irani during his visit to Amethi.
