Encouraged by the success of the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’, led by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha, the Congress is trying to get more and more “numbers” and “Jitau” seats for himself in seat sharing for the Congress assembly elections.

Sources say that the party has identified many such seats which were not in its part in the last assembly election but this time it wants them in its account.

On Wednesday, party state in -charge Krishna Allavaru had said that the seat sharing should have the balance of “good” and “bad” seats in terms of the possibility of victory in seat sharing. He said that it cannot happen that all the ‘bad’ seats should come in the part of one party and any other party gets all the ‘good’ seats.

He also said that on the arrival of new parties in the Grand Alliance, all the existing parties will have to leave their share of seats in proper proportion. Many meetings have been held in the last few weeks regarding seat sharing in the Grand Alliance, but still has not been fully agreed.

A senior Congress leader told the ‘news agency’, “This time we are not only insisting on the number of seats, but it is our endeavor that this time the number should be respectable and more and more seats are ‘Jitau’.

In the 2020 assembly elections, the Congress got 70 seats in the Grand Alliance, but it could win only 19 seats. A major reason for the ‘Grand Alliance’ staying away from power was considered a relatively disappointing performance of the Congress.

Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee President Rajesh Kumar Ram said, “The ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi has received immense public support. The Congress is a strong ally of the Grand Alliance and accordingly it is claiming respectable seats in the assembly elections. ”However, she refused to clarify the number of seats.

The state president of the Congress also emphasized that there is no problem about seat sharing in the Grand Alliance. Rajesh Rathore, president of the media department of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee, said that two-three meetings of the Grand Alliance have been held on the seat sharing and the Congress’s side has been posted positively in them.

Senior state Congress leader Kishore Kumar Jha said that after a long time, the workers united and joined the journey with Rahul Gandhi. He said, “The results of the last Lok Sabha election should also be taken into consideration in the seat sharing. The Congress had contested nine seats, won three and if Purnia was also added, where Pappu Yadav won the Congress leadership, the number becomes four. “He also said that” a respectable agreement with the RJD is possible only when there is a negotiation on par. Otherwise the Grand Alliance may have to suffer losses. ‘

It is worth noting that the Voter Adhikar Yatra started from Sasaram on August 17 under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, passing through more than 20 districts and traveled about 1300 km on September 1. All 243 seats of the assembly in Bihar are expected to be held in October-November this year.
