The car accident that took place in Kalyanpur police station area of Balotra district has now taken a new and controversial turn. On Friday, the relatives of the deceased and people of the society gathered and demonstrated strongly outside the Mathuradas Mathur (MDM) Hospital in Jodhpur. The family members have refused to accept this entire accident as a normal accident and have made serious allegations against the functioning of the police and have raised the demand for a high-level and impartial investigation into the matter. According to the information received, five youths resident of Jodhpur had gone to visit Jasol Dham, a famous religious place in Balotra district. While returning from there, his car suddenly went out of control and overturned in Kalyanpur police station area. Two youths were seriously injured in this horrific accident, who were immediately referred to Mathuradas Mathur Hospital in Jodhpur. However, despite all efforts, both the youth died during treatment. As soon as the news of the death spread, there was huge anger among the family and people of the local society.
The family members and community members protesting outside the hospital alleged that this was not just an accident, but the negligence of the police was behind it. The family members claim that just before the accident, a police vehicle was chasing their car. The police tried to stop the car suddenly, due to which the vehicle became unbalanced and overturned on the road.
Family members say that during treatment in the hospital, the injured youth had given this important information related to the incident while being conscious. The protesters demand that the police include this information given by the injured at the last moment in the case diary of their investigation and take strict action against the policemen responsible.
On the other hand, the police administration has prima facie called this entire incident a road accident. However, in view of the huge anger and allegations of the family members, police officials say that keeping in mind the sensitivity of the case, all aspects will be investigated impartially.
In view of the situation of demonstration and uproar, Jodhpur administration has tightened the security arrangements by deploying additional police force outside Mathuradas Mathur Hospital as a precautionary measure. Administrative and police officers are present at the spot and are trying to pacify the protesters and the family members are being appealed to maintain peace.
