Gayaji, May 30 (IANS). Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing reached Gayaji in Bihar on Saturday as part of his five-day visit to India. On reaching Gaya, Bihar Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha greeted and welcomed him. The President of Myanmar will visit the famous Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya.
Officials said that a high-level delegation has also come to India along with the President of Myanmar. On reaching Gaya airport, the President was welcomed by the state government. It was told that apart from Mahabodhi Temple, the President will also visit Sujata Temple and offer prayers.
It was told that President U Min Aung Hlaing will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 1 to further strengthen relations between the two countries. This is his first visit to India after assuming the office of President. U Min Aung Hlaing will also participate in a business forum in India.
During this visit, he is also accompanied by a high-level delegation, which will include several cabinet ministers, senior officials and business leaders. On June 2, he will also visit Mumbai for business and industry interactions and site visits.

He further wrote that the President’s visit to the holy land of Bodh Gaya, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, is an important opportunity to further strengthen the historical, cultural and spiritual relations between India and Myanmar. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, relations of cooperation, cultural exchange, Buddhist heritage and mutual development between India and Myanmar are continuously reaching new heights.
Let us tell you that earlier this month, Vietnamese President To Lam also started his visit to India from Bodhgaya. This is the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. He prayed at the Mahabodhi Temple.
