New Delhi, May 30 (IANS). These days, a message in the name of ‘Postal Service Gifts’ is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which it is being claimed that India Post is giving gifts and rewards to people. However, the fact check team of Press Information Bureau (PIB) has termed this claim as completely fake.
PIB Fact Check on Saturday clarified on social media platform ‘X’ that India Post has no connection with any kind of ‘Postal Seva Gifts’ offer, reward scheme or lucky draw. The team warned people not to click on such suspicious links or websites and not to share their personal information, such as bank account details, OTP or Aadhaar number with anyone.
PIB also informed that if any person receives any suspicious link, message, photo or video related to the Central Government, he can send it to PIB Fact Check for investigation.
Even before this, the government had warned people about another online investment fraud. This fake scheme was being run in the name of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. In this alleged investment platform named ‘Quantum AI’, a false claim was being made of earning Rs 3 lakh every month by investing Rs 22,000.
PIB Fact Check made it clear that this scheme has neither any connection with the Government of India nor is Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman associated with it. The government has called this claim completely fake.
The fact check unit has appealed to the people to be wary of such investment platforms and links that lure huge profits in a short period of time. According to PIB, the aim of such schemes is to cheat people and embezzle their hard-earned money.
