New Delhi, January 11 (IANS). Elon Musk’s company ‘X Corporation’ has admitted the presence of pornographic content on its platform, mostly created by its ‘Grok’ AI. The company has also said that it will follow Indian laws and remove such content.
According to government sources on Sunday, the platform has blocked about 3,500 pieces of content and deleted more than 600 suspicious accounts. Sources further said that from now on, “X will not allow pornographic content.”
Earlier, The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had summoned X Corporation for failing to prevent the creation and circulation of obscene content on its platform.
The government had directed
“Non-compliance with these requirements will be viewed seriously and may result in strict legal action under the IT Act, IT Rules, BNSS, BNS and other applicable laws, without any further notice, against your platform, its responsible authorities and users on the platform who break the law,” the government directive said.
The ministry directed a thorough review of Grok’s technical and governance framework to prevent X from creating illegal content. It said Grok should enforce strict user policies, including suspending and terminating violators. It said that all objectionable content should be removed immediately without tampering with the evidence.
X Corp. said it will take strict action against illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, on its social media platforms. Musk also posted that “Anyone who creates illegal content using Grok will face the same consequences as if they uploaded illegal content.”
