Lucknow, May 30 (IANS). Samajwadi Party MLA Ravidas Mehrotra, while reacting on many important political and national issues, raised questions on the Centre. He expressed his views ranging from the issue of infiltration in West Bengal to the politics of Karnataka and the NEET paper leak issue.
On the holding points being made to stop infiltrators in West Bengal, Ravidas Mehrotra told IANS that the Central Government and the Union Home Minister are responsible for whatever infiltrators come into the state.
He said that now new steps are being taken in the name of stopping infiltration, but BJP is trying to divert public attention from the real issues. According to him, instead of giving answers to important questions related to the public, such issues are being given prominence.
Speaking on Karnataka politics, the SP MLA said that the Congress Legislature Party has chosen DK Shivakumar as its leader and now he will become the new Chief Minister of Karnataka. Calling it an internal decision of the Congress, he said that the party has taken a decision regarding its leadership.
At the same time, welcoming the Supreme Court’s comment on the NEET exam and paper leak controversy, Ravidas Mehrotra said that the court has clearly said that the people responsible in this matter should be identified. He said that transparency and accountability are very important in the examination system and strict action should be taken against the culprits in cases like paper leak.
Ravidas Mehrotra welcomed the order of the Supreme Court, in which it has been said to fix responsibility in exam related controversies and paper leak cases. He said that no negligence should be accepted in matters related to the future of students and the culprits should be brought to justice.
