New Delhi, June 4 (IANS). India has sent the first shipment of value-added millets products to New Zealand through Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). This is the country’s first shipment of ready-to-cook millets products to New Zealand. This information was given in an official statement on Thursday.
An export consignment of one metric tonne value-added millet-based products was sent by Bengaluru-based Infini Agrotech LLP on Wednesday, the statement said. This consignment reflects the growing global demand for innovative millet-based products made from India’s traditional grains and showcases the growing opportunities for value-added agricultural exports from the country.
The government further said that the exporting company had actively participated in trade promotion programs supported by APEDA, such as ‘World Food India 2025’, ‘Indus Food 2025’ and ‘Gulfood 2026’. Participating in these exhibitions helped the company connect with international buyers, expand its customer base and strengthen its presence in the global markets. The export orders received from New Zealand are a result of the continuous market expansion and business networking undertaken through APEDA’s trade promotion initiatives.
APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev virtually flagged off the shipment. Congratulating the company on this achievement, he appreciated its efforts in developing innovative products based on millet and successfully expanding into international markets.
During the dialogue, the exporter was encouraged to avail the export promotion initiatives of APEDA and continuously participate in trade fairs and exhibitions to further enhance market access and explore new business opportunities.
