Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged citizens to adopt indigenous and give priority to the Made in India products, as newly approved Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms are being implemented from 22 September from the first day of ‘Sharadiya Navratri’.
In his address to the nation, the Prime Minister said, “We have to make every house a symbol of indigenous … every shop should be adorned with indigenous products.” Describing GST reforms as “savings festive”, Modi appealed people to buy products made in India and said that they have worked and “sweat”. He said, “We should buy products that are made in India … in which the youth of our country have worked hard … The sons and daughters of our country have been sweating.”
The Prime Minister said that GST reforms reflect the “Citizen Devo Bhava” mantra of the Central Government and this will save the public enough. He said, “We are moving forward on the mantra of ‘Citizen Devo Bhava’ and we can see its reflection in the GST reforms of the next generation. If you mix income tax exemption and GST exemption, then in a year, people of the country will be saved by 2.5 million rupees and this is what I say. I am, ‘This is a savings celebration. “
Describing self -reliance as the path of developed India, Modi said that the decrease in GST rates will directly benefit small businesses and MSMEs. He said, “To reach the goal of developed India, we have to walk on the path of self -sufficiency, and a huge responsibility to make India self -reliant is also on our MSME. The people of the country, what we can make in our country, we should make it in the country here … our MSME, small industries will be very beneficial by deficiency in GST rates and simplification of rules and processes.
He also described the equality between the campaign of indigenous and economic strength during the independence movement. He said, “Their sales will increase and they will have to be reduced, that is, they will get double benefits … Just as Swadeshi’s mantra strengthened the freedom of the country … Similarly, the mantra of Swadeshi will give strength to the prosperity of the country.” The present four-rate system will be replaced by 5 percent and 18 percent. A separate slab of 40 percent has been retained for luxury and harmful items.
This new structure is expected to support a wide range of industries to make compliance with this new structure, reduce consumer prices, promote manufacturing, and from agriculture to automobiles and FMCG to renewable energy, and its purpose is to reduce the cost of life, strengthen the cost of life, strengthen MSMEs, comprehensive tax base and promote inclusive growth. The reverse fee structure on man -made fibers has been fixed and GST on threads and fibers has been reduced to 5 percent.
