New Delhi, June 7 (IANS). Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey, reacting to the recent statements of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the issue of delimitation and the position of India Alliance, said that attempts should not be made to divide the country on the basis of states. He also advised Congress to take initiative to increase coordination in the opposition alliance.
Responding to Revanth Reddy’s statement, Anand Dubey said that India is a strong and beautiful country full of diversity. He said that the idea of dividing the country on the basis of states or regions is not appropriate. India is like a beautiful bouquet, which includes flowers of different colors and fragrances. Each has its own identity, but together they form a symbol of unity and integrity.
On the issue of delimitation bill, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader said that the central government has sufficient numerical strength in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha houses, hence it has the ability to pass any bill. However, he clarified that the opposition will not remain silent on this issue. The opposition will demand detailed discussion and transparency from the government. He said that the government should put the complete draft of delimitation before the country so that all parties can review it. If the proposal is in the national interest and is positive, then the opposition can also consider supporting it.
Regarding the meeting of India Alliance and the role of various parties in it, Anand Dubey said that Congress is the largest party in the alliance, hence it should take the responsibility of taking all the allies along. He said that Congress should take initiative and adopt the path of dialogue to remove the resentment of Trinamool Congress (TMC), Communist Party of India (Marxist), Aam Aadmi Party and other parties.
On the questions being raised regarding DMK keeping distance from the India Alliance meeting and the participation of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Dubey said that it is natural to have differences in any family. Describing the alliance as a family, he said that in a democratic system there should be space for different views and disagreements.
