New Delhi, April 22 (IANS). Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited the submarine manufacturing plant of TKMS in Kiel city of Germany during his official visit. There he was given information about modern naval technologies and capabilities.

Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius was also present with him during this tour. This shipbuilding facility is known for building modern and advanced submarines.

In a social media post on Wednesday, the Defense Minister described the visit as “very informative”. He said that the technology and operational capability displayed here is quite impressive.

He also said that this visit gave him an opportunity to closely understand the new developments taking place in modern submarine construction and maritime sector, which is very important for global security in today’s time.

He inspected the submarine yard and also interacted with the officials. During this, many important things related to design, engineering and deployment were explained to him.

He also shared some pictures, in which he was seen interacting and taking information with senior officials of India and Germany at the dockyard.

Rajnath Singh said that such visits will further strengthen cooperation in the maritime sector between the two countries.

This visit has come at a time when defense cooperation between India and Germany is continuously increasing. This includes sharing technology, joint development and enhancing naval strength.

India is focusing on strengthening its submarine capability and maritime power, and cooperation with countries like Germany is an important step in that direction.

Earlier on Wednesday, Rajnath Singh met his German counterpart Boris Pistorius in Berlin. The two leaders discussed enhancing defense cooperation and addressing changing global challenges.

They talked about many issues related to security and defence, especially working together in the field of new technologies and increasing production.

According to the Defense Ministry, both the countries agreed to make military cooperation an important part of their strategic partnership.
