The advisory said that in view of the recent incidents in the area, the earlier advice given to all Indian citizens not to travel to Iran is being reiterated. Additionally, Indian nationals who are currently in Iran are advised to leave the country as soon as possible using available means of transport.
The embassy stressed the need to remain vigilant due to the security situation in the area. Indian citizens are advised to follow official instructions issued by local authorities and the Indian Embassy. Those planning to travel abroad are advised to check the latest government advisories before traveling and avoid non-essential travel until the situation normalizes. Meanwhile, Indian citizens living in Iran have been asked to plan to move to a safe place or use available transport options to leave the country.
Amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel, Iranian media reports suggest that Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport and Kermanshah International Airport in western Iran have announced the cancellation of all flights until further notice. This decision has been taken amid the deteriorating security situation in the area. The announcement follows reports that Israeli strikes this morning targeted Tehran, Isfahan and Tabriz. Airport authorities have asked passengers to review their travel plans and keep an eye on official updates until further notice.
According to reports, there is a state of alert in Jerusalem, Ramallah and areas around the Dead Sea after Iran launched rocket attacks on Israel. Various groups have claimed responsibility for the attacks and retaliation. Meanwhile, a rebel group from Yemen has also claimed to have targeted sensitive places in Israel’s Jaffa area.
