Facebook’s parent company Meta is ready to open its first Artificial Intelligence (AI) data center in India. For this initiative, Meta has partnered with Reliance Industries and this data center will be built in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Reliance Industries will build this facility, after which Meta will start operating it there. This AI data center will help advance India’s AI mission. The facility, developed by the Meta-Reliance partnership, will start with a capacity of 168 MW with plans for future expansion. According to reports, this center is expected to be operational in the next two years.
Reliance will build the feature, while Meta will use it to support its AI systems – the systems that power products like Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Additionally, the project will advance Mark Zuckerberg’s broader vision of what he calls “personal super-intelligence.”
