Hyderabad, June 12 (IANS). Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday appealed to the society to take it as their social responsibility to end the child labor system. The Chief Minister made this appeal on the occasion of World Child Labor Prohibition Day.
He said, “Childhood of every child is his birth right. The opportunity to study, play, grow happily and fulfill their dreams is the natural right of every child. It is our collective responsibility that a system like child labor, which takes away these rights, should not find any place in the society.
The Chief Minister said that the government is committed to provide quality education, safety, healthy environment and equal opportunities to every child. He also appealed to families, teachers, voluntary organizations, public representatives and every citizen to become partners in this goal.
He said that child labor should not be promoted under any circumstances and if children are seen working anywhere, it is the responsibility of every citizen to inform the concerned authorities. He said that saving a child from child labor is like starting a new future for him.
He said, “Children should have books in their hands, not tools. There should be hopes for the future on their shoulders, not a burden. It is our collective responsibility to create a Telangana where every child grows up laughing, learning and dreaming.”
Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy also appealed to reiterate the resolve to protect the rights of every child.
Posting on the social media platform ‘X’, he said that childhood is for learning, dreaming and moving forward, and not for working. He said that on World Child Labor Prohibition Day, we should resolve to protect the rights of every child and create an India where opportunities reach every household.
