New Delhi. As part of the special Yamuna cleaning campaign being run by the Delhi government, a massive cleaning program was organized at ITO Ghat on Sunday. The Chief Minister, all cabinet members, BJP workers and people associated with environment protection participated in this campaign. Delhi’s PWD Minister Pravesh Verma, former BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva also participated in the campaign and gave the message of making people aware by cleaning the Yamuna banks themselves. On this occasion, Pravesh Verma said that making Yamuna clean and clear is one of the top priorities of the Delhi government. He said, “Cleaning the Yamuna has been one of the major agendas of our government and we are continuously working in this direction. No stone will be left unturned in making the Yamuna clean.” He also appealed to the people of Delhi to cooperate in this campaign and said that keeping Yamuna clean is not only the responsibility of the government but public participation is also necessary in this. If everyone shows awareness and contributes to prevent the Yamuna river from getting polluted, then the goal of keeping the Yamuna clean can be achieved soon.
Delhi PWD Minister Pravesh Verma said that all the senior leaders and workers of Delhi BJP including Chief Minister Rekha Gupta are actively engaged in the Yamuna cleaning campaign. He expressed confidence that with the efforts of the government and the cooperation of the public, the goal of making Yamuna clean and pure will definitely be achieved.
Taking aim at the previous governments, Pravesh Verma said that the previous governments did not pay enough attention to the cleanliness of Yamuna, due to which the condition of the river continued to deteriorate. Now the government has changed and the new government is working seriously for the revival of Yamuna.
He said, “We are confident that Yamuna will definitely be cleaned and the people of Delhi will get to see a clean river.” Virendra Sachdeva said that the government is serious about the issue of Yamuna from the beginning and continuous efforts are being made for the cleaning and conservation of the river. He said that the government will leave no stone unturned to make Yamuna clean and pure.
Appealing to the people, he said that keeping Yamuna clean is not possible only through government efforts, but public participation is equally necessary for this. He said, “I urge all the people of Delhi to support this campaign and fulfill their responsibility in keeping the Yamuna clean.”
Sachdeva said that Yamuna is the lifeline of Delhi and every section of the society will have to come forward to make it pollution free. He expressed confidence that with the joint efforts of the government and the public, there will be a positive change in the condition of Yamuna and the river will be made clean and beautiful in the coming times.
During the program, a large number of BJP workers, social organizations, environment lovers and local citizens were present, who took active participation in the Yamuna cleaning campaign.
At the same time, BJP MP Swati Maliwal took part in ‘Maa Yamuna River Bank Cleaning Campaign’ in Kalindi Kunj. On this occasion, Swati Maliwal said, “Today many social organizations and the entire BJP family have gathered on the banks of Yamuna to participate in the cleaning campaign. We all are working together and this campaign will last for several hours. Our aim is to ensure that the banks of the Yamuna river are completely clean.”
BJP MLA Harish Khurana took part in ‘Maa Yamuna River Bank Cleaning Campaign’ in Moti Nagar assembly constituency. Harish Khurana said, “We are celebrating ‘Seva Pakhwada’ on the completion of 12 years of Prime Minister Modi’s tenure. Under this, all the Bharatiya Janata Party workers from different districts across Delhi have come out in the field, cleaning different ghats of Yamuna and doing ‘Shramdaan’.”
