After the paper leak incident, the re-examination of NEET (NEET-2026) is scheduled to be held on Sunday (June 21). 22 lakh students from across the country will appear in this examination. However, before the examination a major mistake of the National Testing Agency (NTA) has come to light. New admit cards were issued, and a student from Nagpur was allotted an exam center in Abu Dhabi, Dubai – a move that is raising questions. The student’s father, Dr Mohammed Talib, raised questions as to how a student who had given the original NEET exam in Nagpur on May 3 could be allotted a center in Abu Dhabi for re-exam on Sunday (June 21). She also expressed concern that her son’s academic year could be ruined.
What did the student’s father say about the Abu Dhabi centre?
Speaking to the media in Nagpur, Dr. Talib informed that despite repeated attempts to download the admit card since the 14th, they were initially unsuccessful. When he finally downloaded it on Friday (June 19) and saw the Abu Dhabi centre, he immediately contacted the NTA helpline. Following instructions from NTA officials, he also sent an email requesting to change the centre. Officials have assured him that the center will be changed to Nagpur by 4 pm on Saturday (June 20), and Dr. Talib is hopeful that NTA will fulfill this promise. A shocking aspect of the situation is that Abdullah does not yet have a passport. As a result, if NTA fails to change the exam centre, he/she will not be able to appear in the exam and will lose one year of his/her academic life.
What is the matter?
Following allegations of paper leak, the re-exam of NEET for admission to medical courses is being held on Sunday. NTA has issued admit cards to all the candidates for this purpose. Abdullah, a student from Nagpur, had chosen Nagpur, Wardha or Bhandara as his exam centre, but in his admit card he was allotted a center in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The student and his parents have lodged a complaint in this regard with the NTA helpline and requested for change of centre. If the center is not changed, there is a danger that Abdullah will not be able to appear for the exam again. At present, NTA has assured that the center will be changed.
