New Delhi, June 20 (IANS). Union Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday said initiatives like CPGRAMS (Centralized Public Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System) and Digital Life Certificate are changing governance in India. These have increased transparency, improved service delivery and made administration more citizen-centric. During his conversation with South Korean Minister of Home Affairs and Security Yoon Hojung, he highlighted India’s digital governance achievements and called for further deepening cooperation between the two countries in areas such as e-governance, AI and public administration.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said these things during his meeting with South Korea’s Home and Security Minister Yoon Hojung, who is on an official visit to India these days.
The two leaders held wide-ranging bilateral discussions with their respective delegations for over an hour. During this, discussions were held on increasing cooperation in the field of digital governance, public administration, capacity building and citizen services.
Welcoming the South Korean delegation, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that India and South Korea have a special strategic partnership, based on a shared commitment to democratic values, innovation and good governance.
Referring to the Joint Strategic Vision Statement issued during the visit of South Korean President Lee Jae Myung to India this year, he said that it is an important roadmap to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
Highlighting the progress made in India’s digital governance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr Singh said that technology-based governance platforms have significantly strengthened service delivery and grievance redressal mechanisms.
He said initiatives like CPGRAMS and Digital Life Certificate have increased transparency, reduced procedural hurdles and brought governance closer to common citizens.
Dr Singh said that India and South Korea are vibrant democracies, with shared values, cultural ties and a common commitment to the rule of law.
He said that as major economies of Asia, the partnership between the two countries is not only historical but also developing keeping in mind the needs of the future.
Dr. Jitendra Singh also mentioned the historical relations between the two countries. He mentioned the marital relationship between Princess Suriratna of Ayodhya and King Suro of the ancient Gaya confederacy, which still holds cultural significance for both the countries.
He praised Yoon Hojung’s contribution in strengthening India-South Korea relations, particularly his role as Chairman of the Korea-India Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Dr. Singh expressed confidence that Yoon Hojung’s visit to India will play an important role in further strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
