Lucknow. Former UP minister and veteran leader of Samajwadi Party (SP) Azam Khan was finally released from Sitapur Jail on bail on Tuesday after being in jail and 23 months in jail. Azam Khan was in jail for 27 months before. Azam Khan was considered the most strong leader after Mulayam Singh Yadav during the SP government. It was said that even the leaf would not move without the will of Azam Khan, but in 2017, the bad days of Azam Khan started after the BJP government took power in UP. 104 cases were registered against Azam Khan. Out of which 93 cases were registered only in his home district Rampur.

Azam Khan was accused of occupying government land for his Johar Ali University. Also, a case of stealing books from the library and even a goat stealing was also registered. 11 cases related to land are on Azam Khan. A case was also registered against Azam Khan of rigging in government documents. The court has pronounced decisions on 12 of the cases filed on Azam Khan. Azam Khan has been sentenced in some cases, and in some the court acquitted him. Azam Khan is undergoing 59 cases in the Magistrate Court. Whereas, hearing is going on in sessions court in 19 cases and district court in 3 cases. That is, there are still 81 cases on Azam Khan, in which it can be difficult for him.

Azam Khan first went to jail on 26 February 2020. At that time, he had to stay in captivity 27 months. Then Azam Khan was granted bail, but on 18 October 2023, Azam Khan had to go to jail again when a case of two birth certificate of his son Abdullah Azam came to light. In this case, Azam Khan’s wife Tajan Fatima and Abdullah Azam also had to go to jail. Later Taji and Abdullah were granted bail, but Azam Khan has now come out of jail. Now if Azam Khan is sentenced strictly from a court, then there can be a chance of going to jail.
