New Delhi, July 9 (IANS). Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday appreciated interacting with the MP Lead Fellows and hearing their visionary ideas, aspirations and commitment towards India’s progress.
In a post on X, Goyal said they discussed the transformative journey of Developed India 2047, the role of youth in nation building and the importance of conscious participation in shaping public policy.
The minister said the talks also highlighted the significant contribution of MSMEs in driving innovation, entrepreneurship, employment generation and inclusive economic growth.
Goyal also encouraged the Fellows to embrace innovation, meaningful public service and become active participants in the nation’s development journey.
He further said that India’s greatest strength lies in its youth, and I am confident that they will play a decisive role in shaping India’s bright future.
On Wednesday, Goyal said after a meeting with the leadership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) that strengthening collaboration with ICAI can play an important role in accelerating India’s economic growth and pursuing global business ambitions.
The meeting emphasized on enhancing cooperation between the government and the accounting profession to facilitate trade and investment and enhance India’s competitiveness in the global market. Goyal said the meeting also considered the changing role of the accountancy profession in helping businesses take advantage of emerging global opportunities.
He said that chartered accountants can make a significant contribution by helping enterprises adapt to the changing international trade and investment scenarios.
The minister further said that both sides discussed enhancing institutional participation in the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) mechanism. He emphasized that greater involvement of professional institutions like ICAI can help businesses better understand and take advantage of the opportunities arising from India’s growing network of trade agreements.
Goyal said we also discussed the evolving role of the accounting profession in facilitating trade and investment, enhancing institutional participation in the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) mechanism and supporting businesses in taking advantage of emerging global opportunities.
