Aizawl, 20 September (). BJP’s Youth Branch BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organized a grand ‘Namo Yuva Race’ in Mizoram’s capital Aizawl under Seva Pakhwada. A large number of youth attended the event, who took a pledge of drug -free India.
This national campaign based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday is inspired by the aim of ‘drug -free India’, which aims to connect more than 1 million youths across the country with fitness and anti -drug awareness. More than 251 youth registered in this race.
The race was inaugurated in the morning Palak constituency MLA K.K. Bewangko flagged off the Bawangkawan traffic point. The participants ran on the streets of Aizawl. The race concluded at the Aizawl Lamuel Ground, where the BJP’s local leader while addressing the youth at the closing ceremony said that this race is not just sports, but a medium of national service.
BJP national president Tejashwi Surya announced at the national level that 10,000-15,000 youth will be ensured at 100 places across the country on 21 September. The event in Mizoram proved to be a successful attempt to connect the state’s youth energy. The winners of the race were honored. In the men’s category, the gold medal was won by Lalhamunamavia (Mulpui Venag), who was given a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
Silver Medal T.C. Lalsanga (Rulchoum) was awarded Rs 7,000, while the bronze medal was awarded to Lalkasanga (Longtalai) with Rs 5,000. The top ten runners received a consolation prize of Rs 1,000 every. Special awards were also distributed in young men and women categories, including certificates and medals. Women’s participation was commendable, which will promote gender equality in the state.
