Muscat, July 9 (IANS). After completing important discussion meetings on defence, trade and energy in Kuwait, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar reached Oman on Thursday.
He wrote on the social media platform
Jaishankar met Kuwait’s Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Wednesday. He appreciated the support of the Government of Kuwait for the welfare and care of the people of India, especially the Indian community living there. Also welcomed his vision to make the relations between India and Kuwait stronger and beneficial for both the countries.
Apart from this, Jaishankar also met Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
After the meeting, he wrote on Will be strong.”
Jaishankar also met Kuwait’s Defense Minister Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. During this, issues like cooperation in defense industry and maritime security were especially discussed.
He also met people of the Indian community living in Kuwait.
The Indian Embassy in Kuwait wrote on ‘X’, “External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar interacted with the members of the Indian community in Kuwait. He talked about India’s rapid changes and its growing role in the world. Also, appreciated the important contribution of the Indian community in strengthening the friendship between India and Kuwait.”
Jaishankar also said, “It was good to meet the people of the Indian community in Kuwait. Their role is very important in strengthening the friendship between India and Kuwait. Their experiences and suggestions are extremely valuable for us. I thank them for all their contributions.”
After this visit, Jaishankar will visit New York on July 13, where he will launch India’s official campaign for the 2028-29 term of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
After this he will participate in the third meeting of the India-European Union (EU) Trade and Technology Council meeting to be held in Brussels on 14-15 July. During this time he will also meet his counterparts from the European Union and Belgium.
