There will now be a complete ban on taking photographs, making videos, live streaming or audio recording by any devotee or any other person in the sanctum sanctorum of Siddhapeeth Maa Vindhyavasini temple located in Vindhyachal. City Magistrate Avinash Kumar has issued instructions in this regard.
According to the order issued, photography, videography, live streaming, webcasting, audio recording, storage or transmission of material through any electronic or broadcast medium will be completely prohibited in the sanctum sanctorum and restricted area of the temple. Action will be taken as per rules against those who violate the rules.
Recording will be done only with authorized permission
The administration has clarified that for the purpose of preservation, recording and authorized public information broadcasting of the religious traditions of the temple, recording can be done only at the time of Aarti or after obtaining prior permission of the competent authority.
During this period, only the District Information Officer or his nominated representative, representative of Shri Vindhya Panda Samaj and the media or documentation team authorized by the temple administration will be allowed to do photography and videography.
Decision taken keeping in mind religious dignity and security
According to the administration, a large number of devotees visit the temple every day and on special occasions like Navratri, Amavasya, Purnima and other religious events. In such a situation, unauthorized recording in the sanctum sanctorum was adversely affecting the religious dignity of the temple, spiritual purity, privacy of the devotees, security arrangements, crowd control and disaster management.
Keeping this in view, this decision has been taken on the basis of Shri Vindhya Panda Society, security agencies and administrative assessment.
What will be considered a violation of the rules?
The administration has clarified that the following activities will be considered a violation of the rules-
Photography or videography without competent permission. Broadcasting live on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X or other digital platforms. Using the recording of sanctum sanctorum or restricted area for commercial purposes. Disobeying instructions of security personnel or administrative officials.

City Magistrate Avinash Kumar said that there will be a complete ban on making photos and videos in the sanctum sanctorum. The city jurisdictional officer, inspector in-charge of Vindhyachal police station and officers associated with the temple security arrangements will ensure strict compliance of the order. Search, surveillance and enforcement action will also be taken if necessary.
