Nandurbar, July 18 (IANS). Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Nandurbar District President Dr. Abhijit More has demanded from the Maharashtra government that on the birth anniversary of late Ajit Pawar, his wife and Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar should be handed over the Finance Ministry. He described it as a symbol of better coordination and respect within the Mahayuti alliance and said that it would be the biggest birthday gift for Ajit Pawar.
Dr. More told IANS that in 2023, Ajit Pawar had decided to join the grand alliance led by BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) along with Nationalist Congress Party MLAs. After Ajit Pawar came into the alliance, the government got new strength and as per the discussion held at that time, NCP had got many important departments, which included the Finance Ministry. Ajit Pawar has been one of the most experienced Finance Ministers of Maharashtra and has created records by presenting the budget several times in the Assembly. He claimed that as Finance Minister, Ajit Pawar did effective work by understanding the economic needs of the state and during his tenure, Maharashtra’s GDP also witnessed remarkable progress.
Dr. More said that later Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis kept the finance department with himself, but now the party workers wish that this responsibility should be handed over to Sunetra Pawar. Sunetra Pawar has the full capacity and capability to handle this important department. Sunetra Pawar has worked in the cooperative sector for a long time. He has also made an important contribution in the field of education. He said that even though Ajit Pawar may have been leading publicly during his tenure, Sunetra Pawar has played an important role in many administrative and organizational tasks. Sunetra Pawar is educated and experienced; She can effectively discharge the responsibilities of the Finance Ministry.
Referring to the functioning of the grand alliance government, he said that in the coalition government, BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP take decisions together. In such a situation, if the Finance Ministry is given to Sunetra Pawar, it will not just be the allocation of a department, but will also be a symbol of mutual trust and coordination within the alliance.
Dr. Abhijit More said that on Ajit Pawar’s birthday on 22nd July, if the Finance Ministry is given back to the Nationalist Congress Party and its responsibility is handed over to Sunetra Pawar, then it will be the biggest and meaningful birthday gift for Ajit Pawar. He said that this demand is not just his personal opinion but is the widespread sentiment of the Nationalist Congress Party workers and the BJP leadership should consider it positively.
