Bishkek, July 27 (IANS). Kyrgyzstan’s Health Minister Damirbek Osmonov and India’s Ambassador Birendra Singh Yadav visited the National Center of Oncology and Hematology in Bishkek on Monday. During this, he took information about the operation of Bhabhatron-2 cancer treatment machine working there after the new Cobalt-60 source recently given by India.
According to the Indian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, the Bhabhatron-2 cancer treatment machine was earlier gifted by the Government of India to the National Center of Oncology and Hematology located in the country’s capital.

The embassy said that after changing the cobalt-60 source, the Bhabhatron-2 machine can now treat 10 times more patients in a day than before.
The Embassy said that this replacement of cobalt-60 source is a gift to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan from the Government of India and the people of India.
Last week, Minister of State (MoS) in the Ministry of External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh met Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Cholpon Ata city of Kyrgyzstan.
In this meeting, both the Ministers reviewed the progress made in India-Kyrgyzstan partnership and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
After the meeting, Minister of State Singh wrote on X, “Pleased to meet H.E. Zheenbek Kulubaev, Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, on the sidelines of the SCO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. We reviewed the progress made in our bilateral partnership and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in key areas. Reiterated our shared commitment to advance the India-Kyrgyzstan Strategic Partnership.”
