Kolkata . Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday that he prayed to Goddess Durga for the formation of a new government in the state after the assembly elections in West Bengal next year. The Union Home Minister said at the inauguration of Santosh Mitra Square’s Community Durga Puja pandal in the middle of Kolkata, “I prayed to Maa Durga to get the people of West Bengal such a government that takes the state towards prosperity after the assembly elections next year. Peace in West Bengal comes back. We should build Bengal according to the dreams of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.”
This year Santosh Mitra Square has the theme of Pooja ‘Operation Sindoor’, which shows the valor of destroying many terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir by the Indian Armed Forces in May.
The Union Home Minister said that he sincerely hopes that after the election next year, West Bengal will once again emerge as a safe, prosperous and peaceful state.
He also expressed condolences to the families of 10 people killed in West Bengal, including 8 people from Kolkata. Shah said that there was heavy rainfall in West Bengal before Durga Puja. A total of ten people died. I express my condolences to the families of the dead.
Amit said that the festival of Durga Puja in West Bengal, which is now famous all over the world, takes the state towards prosperity. Our leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi dreams of ‘developed India’ through ‘rich Bengal’. His dream should be fulfilled.
Home Minister Shah recalled him on the birth anniversary of educationist, social reformer and philanthropist Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. He said that his contribution in the field of education will never be forgotten. He dedicated his entire life to Bengali language, Bengal traditions and women’s education.
