India has said that during Operation Sindoor, the Pakistan Army had “appealed” to stop the struggle and there is no scope for any third party intervention in any issue between Delhi and Islamabad.
India has expressed strong objection to the statement of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), saying that during the ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Pakistan Army had appealed to stop the struggle and no third party could have any role in any issue between India and Pakistan.
Petal Gehlot, the first secretary of India’s permanent mission, gave this response when Sharif said in his speech that US President Donald Trump played an important role in reducing tension between India and Pakistan. Using the right to respond, Gehlot said, “In this meeting today, there was an absurd statement of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He once again praised terrorism, which is the basic basis of Pakistan’s foreign policy.”
Sharif claimed in his speech that Pakistan is ready to “overall, comprehensive and result” on all pending issues with India, and also criticized India for the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He also said that Trump’s efforts helped avoid a possible war in South Asia, and Pakistan has nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize.
It is noteworthy that after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, India targeted the terrorist bases located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) under ‘Operation Sindoor’ on the night of 6 May.
