Sharadiya Navratri, which started from 22 September this year, will end on 1 October. This year, Ashtami Tithi is being celebrated on 29 and 30 September in Navratri. Ashtami Tithi will start from 29 September and end with Mahashtami i.e. Durgashtami on 30 September. Finally, Sharadiya Navratri will end on 1 October with Navami Tithi and then Dussehra festival will be celebrated on 2 October. Durga Puja is also performed on the day of Dussehra. In different states of the country, Durga Puja is celebrated by different laws, due to which the holidays of banks are also declared keeping in mind religious beliefs in different states.
When will the banks be closed in your state for Durga Puja?
October 1- All banks in Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala, Nagaland and Meghalaya will be closed on the occasion of Mahanavami, Dussehra, Vijayadashami/Durga Puja.
October 2- On the occasion of Dussehra, Vijayadashami, Durga Puja and Gandhi Jayanti, all banks across the country will remain closed.
October 3- On the occasion of Durga Puja, all banks in Sikkim state will be closed.
October 4- All the banks of Sikkim will be closed on the occasion of Durga Puja.
Banks will be closed for 5 consecutive days in Sikkim
According to the RBI calendar, from October 1 to October 4, there will be a holiday on the occasion of Durga Puja in various states. All banks in Sikkim will remain closed for 5 consecutive days from October 1 to October 4 and then on 5 October. Subsequently, all banks in Sikkim will remain closed due to various festivals on 21, 22 and 23 October.
A total of 21 days of bank holiday will be in various states in October
Let us tell you that in October this year, there will be a total bank holiday in various states of the country. Apart from 4 Sundays and 2 Saturdays in October 2025, there will be a total of 15 holidays of various local festivals. In October 2025, all banks in the country will remain closed due to Sunday 5, 12, 19 and 26 October. Also, on October 11, the second Saturday of the month and the fourth Saturday of the month on 25 October will be, due to which all banks across the country will be closed.
