Now it is necessary to fill an e-Arrival card before all foreign nationals (except Indian and OCI card holders) coming to India) before sitting on the flight. These forms can be filled online on India’s Bureau of Immigration website, Indian Visa portal or SU-SWAGATAM mobile app. This rule has come into force from 1 October 2025.
Let us tell you that this form is absolutely free and it has to be filled from 72 hours to 24 hours before the journey. It will have to give information about passport number, flight number, travel purpose (eg tourism, business, studies or treatment), stay in India, contact details and which countries have traveled in the last 6 days.
After submitting the form, passengers will get a confirmation mail or message that can be saved or printed by printing in mobile. There is no need to upload a document.
Passengers will benefit from this new system-
Immigration clearance will be early at the airport.
The hassle of filling the paper form will end.
The data will be more accurate and safe.
Keep in mind, e-Arrival card is not an alternative to visa. A valid visa is necessary as before to come to India.
