Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday welcomed the progress in peace efforts in Gaza and described the signs of the release of the hostages as an important step. He emphasized that India would “strongly support” all efforts towards permanent peace. He also appreciated the leadership of US President Donald Trump.
In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi said, “We welcome the leadership of President Trump as decisive progress in Gaza is progressing. The signs of the release of the hostages are an important step. India will continue to support all efforts strongly towards permanent and equitable peace.”
Earlier on Saturday (local time) US President Donald Trump thanked the world leaders for their support and coming together for ending the ongoing crisis in West Asia and said that he was eager to see the hostages back home.
Trump said, “I am waiting for the hostages to return home to my parents and some hostages, unfortunately, you know in what condition they are, waiting for their parents to return home, because their parents also wanted them. Just like that young man or woman would be alive. So I want to tell you that it is a very special day, probably a very special day, in many lives.
In his closing speech, the US President said, “We were given a lot of help. Everyone was united to end this war and watch peace in the Middle East, and we are very close to receiving it.”

The Times of Israel said on Friday that Hamas has announced his response to US President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the Gaza war.
