In the modern era, the harvesting of forests has also increased along with the needs. Therefore, the conservation of forests is the biggest challenge at this time in front of the environment. But, Sakshi Bhardwaj, who hails from Bhopal, has built a mini forest at his house to save the forests. Here he has planted about 4,000 trees of 450 species in place of only 800 square feet. He has named this small forest as ‘Jungle Was’, whose aim is to tell people that it is not necessary to have a big place to do gardening. Any corner of the house can be converted into a green corner.
Sakshi Mansarovar, who hails from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, is an assistant professor at Global University. She tells Outlook that this small forest is completely biodegradable. From the fertilizer pouring in the soil to the pots to grow them, they prepare everything from the West Material of their home. Witnesses also produce smaller plants and bio-enzymes from the vessel coming out of the kitchen, fruits and vegetable seeds.
Coconut rock reuse
There are 450 species of plants in this forest. Of which 150 are rare species of plants. Outside the country, such as Indonesia, Florida, Canada, Amazon forests have been ordered. Sakshi has planted those plants in coconut shells. She says, “This coconut shell acts like a strong pot for plants. Apart from this, due to considerable moisture, they do not even need to give water to those plants repeatedly and change the soil. It is more beneficial to plant small plants in the shell instead of pots. This rock can also be compost. It is completely eco-friendly.”
50 trees cutting a common tree
Environmental lover Sakshi started it in 2018 two years ago. He got his inspiration from his mother. Initially, Sakshi started reusing plastic bottles kept at home. Sakshi says, “In this forest, plants of vegetables, fruits, herbs etc. have grown plants. Some of them require certain temperatures, such as dragon fruits, betel leaves, appricodes that are growing very well. In the last lockdown, a mango tree was cut and planted 50 trees, which are now more than 4 feet.”
People also inform people about new methods through workshops
Sakshi also runs a workshop with this. She explains, “The forest settled at home is completely biossteneable and biodegradable. Which does not cause any harm to the earth.” Witnesses also provide online workshops and training programs to make others aware of it. In which she teaches people new ways of plantation. Sakshi says, “Plant Kamuni in the country is very good and big.”
Witness love for trees
Apart from this, Sakshi also sells these rare plants in many corners of the country. For this, he has also created a page of his “Jungle Was” on social media, which makes people aware and also order. Their plants go to places like South India, Delhi, Mumbai, Indore, Bhopal etc. Millions of people are being affected by this new ways of Sakshi. She says, “I am very fond of trees, if someone tells me that he is crazy then I would say that yes I am very crazy for trees.”
