Astrologer SS Nagpal told that the new moon of Kartik month will be from 3:44 pm on October 20 to 5:54 pm on October 21. It would be best to worship Lakshmi on the evening of 20th October during Pradosh period. Pradosh Kaal will be from 5:46 pm to 8:18 pm. Taurus ascendant is best for worshiping Lakshmi, it is a stable ascendant. By worshiping in this ascendant, the position of wealth and Goddess Lakshmi remains stable in the house. Vrishabha ascendant will last from 7:08 pm to 9:03 pm. Apart from this, the Leo ascendant suitable for worshiping Mahakali will be from 1:26 pm to 3:41 am.

After taking bath in the morning, light a lamp in the name of Lord Vishnu. Make offerings and donations to the ancestors in the afternoon. This is necessary for liberation from ancestral debt and blessings. Worship Shri Ganesh, Mahalakshmi and Kuber in the evening (Pradosh Kaal). Light 13 lamps at important places of the house including the main door, kitchen, safe, Tulsi, bathroom. Worshiping Mahakali at midnight during Mahanishith period leads to victory over the enemy, success in litigation and mental strength.
What should be established on Diwali?
Establishing Dakshinavarti conch, Shree Yantra, Gomti Chakra, turmeric knot, cowries, small coconut (shriphal) on Diwali brings happiness, good fortune, health and increase in wealth. Include these items in Lakshmi puja and install them in the safe or place of worship.
Auspicious mantra and recitation on Diwali
Regular recitation of Lakshmi Kuber Mantra, Shri Sukta, Kanakdhara Stotra keeps Lakshmi’s blessings throughout the year. Use yellow items, silver coins, lotus gatta etc. during puja. Make sure to decorate the main door with rangoli and lamps, so that positive energy can enter. Buying a broom is also considered auspicious. It destroys poverty.
