Prayagraj. In Sangam city Prayagraj, on the auspicious occasion of Kartik Purnima and Dev Diwali, there was a flood of faith on the banks of Sangam from early Wednesday morning. At this holy place called the ‘Capital of Faith’, with the first rays of the morning, lakhs of devotees took a holy bath in the Sangam and acquired virtue. A grand Dev Diwali will be organized on the Sangam banks this evening, in which around 10 lakh lamps will be lit and the banks will be decorated with divine light.
A special Ganga Aarti is being organized by Parmarth Niketan at Arail Ghat, in which saints, mahatmas and thousands of devotees from India and abroad will participate. The administration has made extensive security arrangements. Teams of NDRF, water police and divers are continuously monitoring the ghats. This holy bath of Kartik Purnima is considered extremely auspicious in Hindu religion. It is believed that bathing in Sangam on this day destroys the sins of many births and brings good fortune and peace in life.
