Neeraj Mishra/Lucknow, Amrit Vichar: Dhanteras is near. In such a situation, the main metal market of the city, Yahiyaganj, is resonating with the tinkling of utensils. Considering the increasing inclination of people towards health, the market is filled with designs of “copper vessels”.
Every showroom is shining with a “bronze” hue. Copper glasses, big water jugs, mugs, bottles, plates, not to mention copper pressure cookers are available in the shops.
There are metal water dispensers which give the look of earthen pitchers and you will be forced to look at them as soon as you see them. Looking at them, it seems that the “earthen pot” filled with water is on a special stand.
If you believe the truth, if you have money in your pocket then it will not take much time to buy them. Not only this, a large range of leak proof jars are also available in the market. These water dispensers have a dual benefit, store water and can also be decorated at the main entrance for “auspiciousness” during Dwarachar.
Wide range of copper utensils, pressure cookers too
Utensils made of metals like aluminum are no longer the first choice of customers. There is a wide range of copper utensils in the metal market for health conscious people. People are liking them very much. Utensil businessman Harish Chandra Aggarwal says that people are more inclined towards copper utensils.
People buy products like jug, plate, glass etc. But people are liking items like pressure cooker.
A copper pressure cooker of five liters is priced at Rs 7500 and a brass pressure cooker of three liters is priced at Rs 5250. There are also branded ceramic pressure cookers. Grains do not stick to it.
People liked the combo cooker and kadhai very much.
This new item automatically attracts people. The specialty of these combo cookers of three and five liter capacity is that it has a pan as well as a pressure cooker. Both can be used together.
Vegetables can be prepared in one and rice or pulses can be cooked in the other. Its price is Rs 4150 to 5400. Businessman Nilesh Aggarwal says that it is being liked.
One utensil, make many dishes
According to the businessman, multi scan PAN is preferred. Many items can be made simultaneously in this pan of Rs 1,975. Any food being cooked in these will not stick.
Utensils shine even on the footpaths in major markets
Due to Dhanteras approaching, the shine of utensils has started increasing in the markets of the capital. The biggest crowd during the festival is in Yahiyaganj market. Apart from showrooms, utensils markets are shining on the footpaths in Indira Nagar, Gomti Nagar, Aliganj, IT Square, Dandaiya Bazaar, Mahanagar, Alambagh, Bhootnath Market, Krishna Nagar etc.
Copper utensils market is booming
People who collect water, fill the jug at night and drink water from that copper vessel in the morning, for cooking and serving food are taking interest in purchasing such utensils which take care of their health along with taste.
People are now serious about brass and copper utensils. Many copper items are in the markets. People are now buying them everyday. These include jugs, glasses, bowls, spoons and many other things. – Harish Chandra Aggarwal, President Lucknow Metal Association
