One day in Dwarka, Lord Shri Krishna was sitting on the throne with his beloved queen Satyabhama. His vehicle Garuda and divine weapon Sudarshan Chakra were also present nearby. With time, a subtle ego of their respective qualities had developed in the minds of all three. Satyabhama was proud of her unique beauty. He asked Shri Krishna, “Lord, Mother Sita was your wife in Tretayuga. Was she more beautiful than me?”
At the same time, Garuda also expressed his feelings, “Is there anyone in the world who can fly faster than me?” Sudarshan Chakra also said, “I have given you victory in many wars. Can anyone be more powerful than me?” Lord Shri Krishna understood everything. He decided to remove the ego of all three.
He ordered Garuda to call Hanumanji and tell him that Lord Ram is waiting for him with Mother Sita. Here Shri Krishna himself took the form of Shri Ram and asked Satyabhama to take the form of Sita. Sudarshan Chakra was given the responsibility of guarding the gate of the palace. Garuda approached Hanumanji and invited him to follow him.
Hanumanji said politely, “You go, I will follow.” Garuda started thinking in his mind that he would definitely reach first. But when they reached Dwarka, they were surprised to see that Hanumanji was already sitting in front of the Lord. Shri Krishna in the form of Lord Ram asked smilingly, “Hanuman, did no one stop you at the door?” Hanumanji humbly took out the Sudarshan Chakra from his mouth and placed it at the feet of the Lord and said, “Lord, he wanted to stop me, so I brought him along.”
Now Sudarshan Chakra’s pride was shattered. Then Hanumanji looked towards Satyabhama and asked, “Lord, which maid have you kept sitting with you in place of Mother Sita today?” On hearing this, Satyabhama’s beauty pride also vanished. Garuda, Sudarshan Chakra and Satyabhama all three understood that no one’s ego can stand in front of the Lord. He humbly bowed at the feet of God.
