Lucknow/Prayagraj, Amrit Vichar: In Magh Mela 2026, Teerthraj Prayag has emerged as a global center of spirituality, penance and sadhana. The grand spiritual complex established in the camp of Mouni Maharaj on the banks of Sangam has become a major center of faith for the devotees. Here, the 11 feet high grand Shivling made of 5 crore 51 lakh Rudrakshas is the center of attraction, which devotees from all over the country and abroad are coming to see and worship.
Under this grand ritual, 12 crore 51 lakh Panchakshar mantras and mantras of Rigveda will be chanted with the wish of construction of the proposed grand temple in Kashi and Mathura. In this Mahayagya of Sadhana and Prakash, 33 thousand lamps are being lit every day, whereas a target has been set to light 11.25 lakh lamps in the entire event. Along with this, Maha Aarti is being organized every day with 151 plates, due to which the entire camp is illuminated with Vedic chanting and divine light.
The pinnacle of devotion through rigorous circumambulation
On the holy festival of Makar Sankranti, Sagara Peethadhishwar Swami Abhay Chaitanya Brahmachari ‘Mouni Maharaj’ of Amethi demonstrated the peak state of his spiritual practice. Sagra Peethadhishwar Mouni Maharaj of Amethi covered a distance of about one and a half kilometers from his camp to Sangam Ghat by doing Dandavat Parikrama. This is said to be his 1664th Chakravarti Parikrama. After parikrama, he took a bath in the Sangam and stood in the water and anointed the Shivalinga. After bathing and anointment, Mouni Maharaj performed Havan and Aarti with wishes for national protection, world peace and public welfare. A huge crowd of devotees gathered in the Sangam area to see this amazing scene.
‘Monkey Man’ reached Magh Mela riding on Thar
This time a unique scene became the center of attraction among the sages, saints, Kalpavasis and devotees in the Magh Mela. Two young men, popularly known as ‘Monkey Man’, reached the Magh Mela riding on a Thar vehicle, seeing which the devotees present in the Sangam area were stunned. Within no time, this entry of ‘Monkey Man’ became a topic of discussion and people started capturing this scene in mobile cameras.
