Lucknow, Amrit Vichar: UP. The rejuvenation of Bada Shivala Shri Sidhnath Temple located in the Sadar area of the capital by the Tourism Department has reached the final stage. About 75 percent work of this project costing more than Rs 1 crore has been completed.
Built of Lakhauri brick, Surkhi and lime, this ancient temple is known for its distinctive architectural style and octagonal pavilion. Modern facilities like passenger hall, passenger residence, interlocking routes and toilets are being developed in the temple premises, so that the devotees can get better facilities.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said that the state government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath is committed to developing little-known mythological places and putting them on the tourism map. He said that such efforts will also boost local employment and economy. Attractive lighting, green area, drinking water, seating arrangements and sign boards are being installed in the temple premises. According to mythological beliefs, this place is associated with the period of Lord Shri Ram. There is a special belief of offering water for 40 days here and a large number of devotees arrive on Sawan and Mahashivratri.
