The month of Shravan is considered the most sacred and auspicious for the worship of Lord Shiva. According to the Purnimanta calendar followed in North India, Shravan will begin on July 30, 2026 (Thursday) and will end with Rakshabandhan on August 28, 2026. It is believed that worshiping Lord Shiva (Bholenath) with full devotion and religious rituals in this month removes many difficulties of life and brings happiness and prosperity. Therefore, it is considered auspicious to clean the house and remove things considered inauspicious before the start of Shravan. According to religious beliefs, doing this brings positive energy into the house and increases the chances of getting blessings from Lord Shiva. If you want happiness, peace and progress to prevail in your home during Shravan, then the following things should be removed before the beginning of the month.
**Broken idols and damaged religious objects**
According to religious beliefs, broken idols of Gods and Goddesses or broken religious objects should not be kept in the temple of the house. It is considered auspicious to immerse them in a holy river or dispose of them as per religious customs.
**Broken Glass and Mirror**
Broken mirror or glass objects in the house are considered a symbol of negative energy. If you have such a mirror in your house, then it is considered auspicious to install a new mirror before the start of Shravan.
**Stopped or broken watches**
In Vastu Shastra, a stopped clock is considered a symbol of obstacles and stagnation in life. Therefore, if any clock in your house is lying stopped for a long time, get it repaired or removed.
**Useless and broken things**
Broken furniture, faulty electronic devices or useless things that have been lying around for years increase negativity. It is considered auspicious to remove such things and organize the house before Shravan.
**Dried Plants**
Keeping dry or withered plants in the house is not considered auspicious, as they can stop the flow of positive energy. Therefore, it is better to remove them and plant fresh, green plants before Shravan begins. worn out or damaged shoes
According to religious and Vaastu beliefs, torn or unused shoes and slippers should not be kept in the house, because they increase negativity.
