Markandeya Pandey, Lucknow, Amrit Vichar: Fragrant incense and incense sticks were to be made from the flowers of Hanuman Garhi in Ayodhya, while Shivbhabhoot was to be made from the flowers grown in the Mankameshwar temple of Lucknow. For which the plant was provided free of cost by CSIR-NBRI. But after running for a few days this plant had to be closed. Whereas flowers, leaves and bel leaves etc. are coming out from the temple in large numbers on a regular basis, which is being disposed of as before. During the two-day National Farmers Fair held in the month of January last, the technique of making Shivbhabhut from flowers and Bel leaves grown in temples was transferred.
At the end of January, Director General of CSIR and Secretary of DSIR to the Central Government, Dr. N. This plant was presented to the Mankameshwara temple in the presence of Kalaiselvi. The temple spent about Rs 5-6 lakh and prepared a place to install the plant. Besides, a counter for the sale of Shivbhabhuta was also made in the temple premises itself. This plant worked for a few days and the fragrant Shivbhabhuta was sold at Rs 10 per packet. But now it has to be closed.
Shivbhut plant is also operational in Kashi Vishwanath
Shivbhabhutha is also being made in Kashi Vishwanath from the flowers grown in the temple. In Uttar Pradesh it was also installed in the Mankameshwar Temple in Lucknow. Which is now closed.
Difficulty in running the plant
The plant for manufacturing Shivbhabhut is operated by electricity and gas. The process of making Bhabhuta by disposing of flowers takes 4 to 5 hours. For which LPG cylinder, electricity, water and at least two people are required. Due to which the plant is not able to meet its cost and employee’s salary.

People want to get Bhabhoot for free
The price of Shivbhabhut is fixed at just Rs 10 per packet at the counter in the temple courtyard. But people want to take it for free. Due to which there are problems in meeting the costs due to low sales.
