Why is Trayodashi Shraddha important?
Trayodashi Shraddha is also performed for children and ascetics whose death date is not known. It is believed that by performing Shraddha on this day, they get relief and happiness and peace remains in the house. Apart from this, according to astrology, performing Trayodashi Shraddha also removes Pitra dosha and if a person has Pitra Dosha in the horoscope, then performing this Shraddha reduces the effect of defect.
How to offer?
Time of Shraddha – Trayodashi Shraddha Kutumb, Rohini or medieval is considered the most auspicious. The pindadan done at this time reaches the ancestors directly.
Tarpan method – On this day, take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes. After this, prepare food for the ancestors, which includes all the things to be fed to kheer, puri, vegetables and Brahmins.
Pindadan – Offer a body in Shraddha Karma and offer it. These bodies are made from rice, barley and black sesame. After offering bodies to the ancestors, offer them with water.
Food to the Brahmin – After Shraddha, give a respectful food to the Brahmin and give them Dakshina. Must include the items that are liked by parents in food.
Provide them food too – a part of the food of Shraddha should also be removed for crows, dogs and cows. It is believed that they are symbols of ancestors and giving them food brings peace to the ancestors.
