The new Tata Punch has an iTurbo engine, which produces 120 PS of power, and also has an AMT transmission with twin-cylinder iCNG technology.
Tata Motors has launched the 2026 Punch facelift in India today and its starting price has been kept at Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The updated micro SUV has been given new variant options, many new features and mechanical upgrades. The biggest feature of this facelift includes the new 1.2-litre turbo petrol (iTurbo) engine.
This engine is capable of delivering power of 120 PS and torque of 170 Nm. This engine comes standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This turbo petrol engine found in the upper variants of the range makes the Punch lineup more performance-oriented than before. Transmission options have also been expanded further.
Now AMT gearbox is also provided in Punch CNG variant, in which paddle shifters are available and this is the first time in this segment. Due to Tata’s dual-cylinder CNG technology, the boot space is also 210 litres. In terms of safety, Punch has retained its 5-star Bharat NCAP rating. According to Tata, about 70 percent of the customers buying the Punch are first-time car buyers. Now 6 airbags, ESP and multiple drive modes are provided as standard in all variants.

Talking about the design, the facelift model has new headlamps and taillamps, changed bumper, new grille, new LED DRLs and full-width LED light bar at the rear. Dual-tone alloy wheels make its looks more attractive. Apart from this, a 7-inch driver display, 8-speaker audio system, touch-based climate control, new steering wheel with illuminated logo, Punch EV-like fabric seat design, seats with front and rear thigh support and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers are also included. The option of a single-pane sunroof is also available in some variants.
The 2026 Tata Punch facelift is offered in 6 variants and is available with 6 exterior colors which include Cyantafic, Caramel, Bengal Rouge, Daytona Grey, Coorg Clouds and Pristine White. The base Smart variant also gets LED headlamps, electronic stability program, Eco and City drive modes, remote keyless entry, iTPMS and a new steering wheel taken from the Nexon.
The Pure and Pure+ variants get rear AC vents, steering-mounted controls, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), cruise control, reverse camera, Type-C fast charging port and a height-adjustable driver seat. Whereas the Adventure variant brings a big upgrade in terms of technology.
It has a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, push-button start, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers and 15-inch styled steel wheels. The top-spec Accomplished and Accomplished+ variants get 16-inch alloy wheels, LED DRLs and taillamps, larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, extended thigh support seats, voice-assisted electric sunroof, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging and Tata’s iRA connected car technology.
