Tata Motors has confirmed the launch date of the 2026 Tiago facelift and it will be launched on May 28. Updated exterior and more features will also be seen in the new Tiago. Many major changes will be made in the most affordable hatchback of the company’s lineup. At the same time, Tiago EV facelift will be launched on May 28.
According to the pictures seen during testing, the most changes will be seen in the exterior of the new Tiago. Slim grille at the front, new LED headlamps, sharper DRLs, new bumper and fog lamps at the bottom will give it a more modern look than before. The basic body shape of the car will remain the same but the new multi-spoke alloy wheels will give a fresh look to its side profile.
At the rear, a new tailgate design, updated LED taillamps and connected light bars will be seen. Also, the new flat designed bumper will bring it closer to Tata’s new design language. The interior will get a new dashboard layout which will be given a gloss black finish. Apart from this, features like 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will also be available.
The new Tiago can also be provided with a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, which will replace the basic MID of the current model. Apart from this, features like touch based climate control, ambient lighting, better audio system, new seat upholstery, front center armrest and rear headrest can also be seen.
Talking about the engine, the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will remain the same, which generates 86 PS power and 113 Nm torque. This engine will be available with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. The factory fitted CNG variant will also continue, which produces 75.5 PS of power and 96.5 Nm of torque. The special thing is that Tiago is among the few CNG cars in India, in which the option of AMT gearbox is available.
A major change in Tiago EV may be regarding the battery pack. According to reports, the 19 kWh battery pack may be removed and a 24 kWh unit may be given in the base variant. At the same time, the top variant is likely to get a larger 30 kWh battery pack, which can give a range of more than 360 km. The new 6-in-1 i Drive motor found in the Punch EV can also be seen in the updated Tiago EV.
The electric version will also see exterior updates like the ICE model, which will include new headlamps, bumpers, alloy wheels and connected rear light design. The starting price of the new Tiago facelift could be around Rs 4.75 lakh (ex-showroom), while the price of the top variant could go above Rs 8.25 lakh.
