3 new hybrid cars are going to be launched in India in the coming months, which will give strong performance along with high mileage.
In view of the increasing demand for hybrid cars, auto companies are continuously launching new models in India. After the launch of the new Honda City Hybrid in May 2026, now three more new hybrid cars are going to hit the Indian market by the end of this year. The special thing is that while the first new hybrid car was a sedan, all three upcoming models will be SUVs, which will have modern features and strong performance along with better mileage.
1. Honda ZR-V Hybrid
Honda can launch its new ZR-V hybrid SUV in India this month and its delivery is also likely to start soon. This SUV has been positioned between HR-V and CR-V in the global market. In India, it will be brought only with hybrid powertrain.
The length of this SUV is 4,567 mm, width is 1,840 mm, height is 1,621 mm and wheelbase is 2,655 mm. It will have a combination of 2.0-litre petrol engine and electric motor, which gives a power of 181 hp. According to the company, its mileage is 22.8 km/litre. Honda will import it from Japan as CBU (Completely Built Unit), so its ex-showroom price could be around Rs 45 lakh.
2. Kia Sorento Hybrid
The Kia Sorento Hybrid is expected to be launched in India around October. This will be the first hybrid SUV in the Skoda Kodiaq segment. Earlier it was believed that it would be manufactured in India, but now according to reports it will be assembled in India through CKD kits imported from South Korea.
The length of this SUV is 4,815 mm, width is 1,900 mm, height is 1,695 mm and wheelbase is 2,815 mm. It can be offered in 6-seater and 7-seater options. It will get a combination of 1.6-liter turbo petrol engine and electric motor, which gives power of 236 hp and torque of 380 Nm. AWD option is also available in the international market, but whether it will be available in India or not has not been confirmed yet. Its mileage is expected to be around 20 km/litre.
3. Renault Duster Hybrid
Renault Duster Hybrid could be launched in late October or early November. The company had started its pre-booking this year and had said that the production scheduled for 2026 has already been booked. The company will open its booking again before the delivery of the first consignment starts around Diwali.
The Duster Hybrid will get a 1.8-litre petrol engine along with an electric motor and a 1.4 kWh battery pack. The company claims that about 80 percent of driving in the city can be done with the help of electric motors. The mileage of this hybrid SUV is expected to be around 25 km/litre.
