Hyundai Creta tops the list of best selling midsize SUVs in April 2026 with 15,291 units. place remained on
Hyundai Creta remained number-1 in its segment despite a decline of 10.1 percent in April 2026. A total of 15,291 units of Creta were sold and it captured 13.4 percent market share. At the same time, total sales of the entire midsize SUV segment increased to 1,13,850 units, whereas last year in the same month this figure was 88,527 units.
Mahindra Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic together sold 14,719 units and stood second in the list. However, there has been a slight decline of 5.2 percent in its sales on annual basis. Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki’s Victoris SUV sold 13,701 units in April 2026 and has achieved 12 percent share in the midsize SUV segment since its launch.
The new generation Kia Seltos, which came a few months ago, also performed brilliantly. Its sales increased by 72.2 percent to 10,566 units, compared to 6,135 units sold in the same month last year. Demand for Mahindra Thar also remained strong with 10,459 units sold, although sales were slightly lower than last year.

At the same time, Toyota urban cruiser Hyrider took a big jump and its sales almost doubled to 9,115 units. This hybrid SUV has registered a growth of 96.4 percent on an annual basis. Many SUVs of Mahindra were included in the top 15 list. Mahindra Bolero sold 8,917 units, while Mahindra XUV 7XO sold 8,630 units, registering a growth of 26.7 percent.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara also showed a steady performance with sales of 7,718 units, registering a growth of 7.9 percent. In the electric SUV segment, MG Windsor sales declined by about 10 percent to 3,296 units. Mahindra XEV 9S has made it to the list with sales of 3,242 units.
Tata Harrier was among the SUVs recording the highest growth as its sales increased by 151.5 percent to 2,545 units. Whereas Tata Safari sold 1,467 units and it has also registered a positive growth. Among electric models, 1,611 units of Mahindra XEV 9e were sold, but its sales declined by 34 percent. Whereas sales of Tata Curvv declined by 55.4 percent to 1,403 units. Whereas Mahindra BE 6 recorded sales of 1,170 units and achieved an impressive growth of 112.7 percent.
