7 new cars will be launched in the Indian market in January 2026, including electric models
The month of January 2026 is going to be very special for the Indian automobile market, because a total of 7 new cars will be launched during this period. The start of the new year is going to be very exciting with EVs, all-new models and facelift updates. Big companies like Kia, Mahindra, Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki are preparing to launch their much awaited cars in the market. Here we have given information about 7 new cars to be launched in January 2026.
1. New-Gen Kia Seltos
Kia recently introduced the second generation Seltos in India, which is based on the new K3 platform. This SUV comes with a completely new design both outside and inside. In size, it is already 95 mm longer and 30 mm wider, while its wheelbase has increased by 80 mm. Bookings for the new Seltos have started at a token amount of Rs 25,000. It will have the option of 1.5 liter NA petrol, 1.5 liter turbo diesel and 1.5 liter tGDi petrol engine. Its prices will be announced on January 2 and deliveries are expected to start from mid-January.
2. Maruti Suzuki and Vitara
Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car e-Vitara is also set to launch in January 2026. It has already been revealed and its prices will be announced on January 2. The e-Vitara will come in three variants with Delta, Zeta and Alpha. It will have two battery pack options of 49 kWh and 61 kWh, whose ARAI range will be up to 543 kilometers. Based on the Heartect-e platform, this car will have a front-wheel drive setup and with a large battery pack, it will deliver 172 bhp power and 193 Nm torque.
3. Skoda Kushaq Facelift
The Skoda Kushaq is also set to get its first mid-life facelift in January 2026. New front design, new alloy wheels and refreshed rear profile can be seen in the facelift model. New features like panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS can be added with mild changes in the cabin. Engine options remain the same, with 1.0 liter and 1.5 liter TSI petrol engines available with manual and automatic gearboxes.
4. Mahindra XUV 7XO
The facelifted version of Mahindra XUV700 is now named XUV 7XO and will debut on January 5, 2026. It will get a new exterior design and updated interior, which will be inspired by the recently launched electric XEV 9S. The SUV will have features like triple screen dashboard layout, massage front seats, rear ventilated seats in 6-seater version, 16-speaker premium sound system and multi-color ambient lighting. Engine options will continue to be the 2.0 liter mStallion petrol and 2.2 liter mHawk diesel engines.
5. Nissan Gravity MPV
Nissan is also going to enter with a new compact MPV named Gravitas in January 2026. This 7-seater MPV will be based on the Renault Triber and will debut in January. The design and interior of this MPV, built on the CMF-A+ platform, will be different from the Triber, although its overall shape will remain similar. It is expected to get 1.0 liter NA petrol engine, which will give power of 76 HP and torque of 95 Nm.
6. Renault Duster
Renault is also preparing to introduce the new generation Duster in India. The company has confirmed that it will be unveiled in India on January 26, 2026, although the launch date is not yet decided. Based on the CMF-B platform, the new Duster is expected to get a 1.3 liter turbo petrol engine, which will give power of 154 bhp and torque of 250 Nm. The company is also considering localized hybrid powertrain for this. In terms of design, it will be similar to the international model, but some India-specific changes may be seen.
7. Tata Punch Facefit
Finally, talking about Tata Punch facelift, it is also to be launched in January 2026. The pictures revealed during testing show that it will have a new exterior design, which will be inspired by the Punch EV. The cabin can get a new steering wheel, updated dashboard, large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and fully digital instrument cluster. Mechanically, it will come with 1.2 liter petrol engine and CNG option as before.
