The new Hero Xpulse 421 can debut at the EICMA show in November and will be given a new liquid-cooled engine.
Hero MotoCorp’s upcoming Xpulse 421 will top the company’s adventure motorcycle lineup. It is expected to be launched by the end of this year or early 2027. This new adventure tourer bike will compete with Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure in the middleweight segment. It is believed that its world debut may take place in November 2026 at the EICMA show held in Milan, Italy, after which it will be launched in India.
The new Xpulse 421 will get a new 421cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which is built on a steel trellis frame. Hero has not yet revealed its power and torque, but it is expected to deliver around 40 HP. The bigger engine will give it better performance and highway capability than the existing Xpulse 210.
The bike is likely to get 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. The dual-purpose tires will help it perform better on road, unpaved roads and off-road trails. The longer suspension travel will also strengthen its adventure-focused character. It has been spotted undergoing high-altitude testing in Ladakh, where it was seen running alongside several Xpulse 210 and Hero 450 Rally race bikes.
According to reports, Hero MotoSports Dakar Rally Team riders Ross Branch and Nacho Cornejo were also involved in this testing. The presence of experienced Dakar riders shows that Hero is gathering all the necessary feedback before finalizing the production model. In difficult conditions like Ladakh, the company is testing the performance of the engine, cooling system, chassis and suspension capability.
The bike is being tested in high altitude areas, bad roads and steep climbs. This motorcycle has a high windscreen, large fuel tank, wire-spoke wheels, long suspension travel and upright riding position. Its rear part is relatively thin, while the front profile appears quite strong and large.
Looking at these pictures, it seems that Hero Xpulse 421 is now very close to launch. Its official reveal may take place at the EICMA show in November 2026, while complete details of its price, features and launch will be revealed at the time of launch.
