Hyundai is going to enter the hybrid segment in the coming few years and these three SUVs are going to play a big role in it.
Hyundai is preparing to make a major change in its portfolio in the coming few years with a big focus on hybrid technology. The company is working on introducing three new SUVs, including the new generation Hyundai Creta, a new three-row SUV (which will sit above the Hyundai Alcazar) and the flagship Hyundai Palisade.
The most important launch among these will be the new generation Creta, which is internally codenamed SX3 and is expected to be launched around 2027. This SUV will be based on a new platform, due to which its design and style will be sharper and more modern than before. There is huge demand for Hyundai Creta in India.
Also, major changes will be seen in its cabin, which will include better quality materials, more tech-focused layout and new features. Engine options include existing petrol, turbo petrol and diesel engines, but the most important thing will be the addition of hybrid variants, which will help in providing better mileage and lower emissions.

At the same time, work is also going on on a new three-row SUV to be positioned above the Alcazar, which is said to be codenamed Ni1i. It can get hybrid technology with 1.5-litre petrol engine and it will also be able to run only in electric mode for some distance in traffic. Its launch may also take place around 2027 and it will compete in the rapidly growing hybrid SUV segment.
Apart from this, the company is also looking at the possibility of bringing a hybrid version of its flagship SUV Palisade to India, which could be launched by 2028. This premium SUV will come with a combination of turbo petrol engine and electric motor, adding a new premium and advanced option to Hyundai’s SUV lineup.
Apart from this, Hyundai will also launch Ioniq 5 facelift in the coming months. A new compact electric SUV is also in the pipeline.
