Kia Seltos has achieved the milestone of 6 lakh sales in India, a little more than 6 years after its launch in August 2019
Kia India launched the Seltos midsize SUV for the first time in the year 2019 and it made a strong mark in the Indian market and now its sales have crossed the figure of 6 lakh units in the Indian market. This achievement is a huge success for Kia and it is clear that Seltos has become one of the important vehicles of the company. Along with good sales in India, this SUV is also being exported abroad and is playing an important role for the company there too.
Since its launch, Seltos distinguished itself through its sporty design, wide range of petrol and diesel engine options and automatic transmission availability in both the fuel options. This is the reason why it remains the choice of customers in the midsize SUV segment. Sales data shows that almost one-third of customers choose its top variant, while the continued demand for the entry and mid variants shows that this SUV attracts value-for-money buyers and those seeking premium features.
Talking about the size, the length of Kia Seltos is about 4,460 mm, width is 1,830 mm and wheelbase is 2,690 mm. These dimensions give it good cabin space and a strong road presence. The changes made over time have improved the vehicle’s driving comfort, infotainment system, driver assistance features and safety, thereby enhancing the driving and user experience.
Prices for the new generation Seltos were announced last month. Its starting ex-showroom price is Rs 10.99 lakh, which goes up to Rs 19.99 lakh for the top model. This SUV is based on the global K3 architecture, which makes its body structure stronger than before and improves driving stability and handling.
In terms of safety, features like six airbags, ABS, hill-start assist and electronic stability control have been provided as standard. The top variants come with Level-2 ADAS technology along with 21 advanced safety functions. In terms of design, it is based on Kia’s new ‘Opposites United’ styling philosophy.
Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, “Crossing the 6 lakh sales mark reflects the trust and preference of the customers. According to him, the Seltos has set new benchmarks in the mid-SUV segment and the features it introduced at the time of launch were not common in this segment at that time.”
