Kia Seltos Hybrid
Kia has recently launched the new generation Seltos. Now the company is also preparing to launch its strong hybrid version in the market next year. It is believed that it will be launched after the launch of the new Hyundai Creta. The new Seltos Hybrid is expected to get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a strong hybrid system and automatic transmission. There will not be much change in design and features. However, the boot space may be slightly less due to the battery pack.

Kia Sorento Hybrid could be the company’s first strong hybrid SUV in India. Sorento is already sold in many international markets, but for India the company is preparing to offer a different hybrid powertrain in it. While the global model gets a 1.6-litre strong hybrid engine, in India it is likely to come with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a strong hybrid system and automatic gearbox.

The current model of Kia’s premium MPV Carnival arrived in India in 2024 and is currently available with only a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The company has already indicated that Carnival will be offered with hybrid technology by 2030. In the international market, Carnival is available with a 1.6-litre hybrid engine. However, nothing can be said for sure whether it will get the same engine in India or the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol hybrid powertrain.

A hybrid model of Kia’s powerful 7-seater MPV Carens can also be launched. Currently, the Car is available in petrol, diesel and electric (EV) options in the Indian market. According to reports, its hybrid version can be launched by 2029. It is expected to get the same 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine, which will also be used in the Seltos Hybrid and the new Creta Hybrid.
Kia Sonet Hybrid
Kia is also working on hybrid technology for its entry-level SUV Sonet. The company may launch the next generation Sonet in 2027. The new Sonet is likely to have a new exterior design, more modern features and use the same platform as the Ciros. Apart from the existing naturally aspirated petrol, turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel engines, the company is also developing a strong hybrid powertrain for it. According to reports, Sonet Hybrid may be launched in the Indian market by 2028-29.
